The third Middle East Poultry Expo in Riyadh was a hit, with over 20 agreements signed, totaling more than 4 billion riyals. It’s all about boosting modern tech in the poultry industry worldwide. The expo, kicked off by Minister Abdulrahman Al-Fadli, runs for three days, May 13th to the 15th, drawing experts and companies from over 40 countries.
Themed “Maximizing Value and Minimizing Costs: Value Engineering in the Poultry Industry,” the expo showcases the experiences of leading global companies with over 800 products involved in poultry supply chains. It also facilitates knowledge exchange, investment opportunities, and workshops with over 100 global experts, expecting over 15,000 attendees.
Saudi Arabia’s poultry industry has seen impressive growth, achieving 68% self-sufficiency.
Dr. Ali Al-Sheikhi, Assistant Minister for Fisheries and Animal Wealth, highlighted the participation of 55 specialized companies, 320 local and international exhibitors, and over 20 workshops during the expo.
Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Eng. Ahmed Al-Ayedah, stressed the vital role of the poultry industry in achieving local and international food security, given Saudi Arabia’s high consumption rate of poultry meat, which is around 50 kilograms per person annually. The kingdom has an expansion plan to increase poultry production, aiming for around 1.3 million tons of chicken meat annually to contribute to food security, provide high-quality local products at affordable prices, and create new investment opportunities.
