Rail transport services in the Kingdom set new records in the first quarter of 2024, with over 8 million passengers and 6 million tons of goods transported. Within cities, passenger rail services moved more than 2 million passengers, marking a 1.7% increase from the same period last year.
Intercity trains transported more than 6 million passengers, a growth of 25.41% compared to the first quarter of 2023. The amount of goods and equipment transported by rail exceeded 6 million tons, with a 10.7% increase over the same period last year.
