In the first quarter of 2024, the General Entertainment Authority granted over 1,600 licenses for entertainment activities, marking a notable 28% increase compared to the same period last year.
These licenses encompass a wide range of entertainment offerings, including events, amusement parks, and talent management services. Additionally, 97 new entertainment destinations received licenses, drawing in more than 11 million visitors across the country.
Key cities such as Riyadh, and the Eastern Province hosted a significant number of events, with Riyadh leading the pack with 216 events. Field visits also saw a substantial surge, totaling 16,700 visits, with Riyadh registering the highest numbers. Other regions, including Tabuk, Hail, and Najran, also experienced noteworthy activity, with field visit counts ranging from 56 to 232.
This surge in licenses reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing commitment to fostering diverse entertainment offerings for its residents and visitors alike.
